Scholarship in Emergency Management for Heritage

Emergency Managment Scholarship

The Heritage Collections Care Consortium is offering a fully funded scholarship in Emergency Management for Heritage Collections. This scholarship aims to train collections care professionals in developing an emergency management program for collections. 
​
The application is open to all heritage professionals worldwide responsible for emergency preparedness in museums, libraries, archives, and historic houses. To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be actively involved in emergency planning and response in your organisation. 

The scholarship will support your professional development by providing: 
​​​
  • Tools for Risk Assessment. Access to methodologies and resources that enable you to effectively identify and evaluate risks to collections, providing the essential first step in emergency preparedness.
​​
  • Skills for Operational Planning. Training in the development of a robust emergency response plan tailored for collections, ensuring readiness for potential emergencies.
​​
  • Knowledge for Training Program Design. Expertise in creating a comprehensive training program for emergency response teams, promoting effective preparedness and response procedures.
​​
  • Specialized Knowledge in Emergency Management. Insights into specific aspects of emergency management relevant to your field, equipping you with the necessary understanding to navigate challenges effectively.

We prioritise applications from countries that have been recently impacted by natural disasters or war.

  • State your name, the name of your organisation, and the name and contact details of your line manager or supervisor supporting your application
  • Please state in a few sentences how the knowledge and skills you would gain from this scholarship might help you in your work and benefit your organisation.  
  • Please confirm in this document that you would be able to attend the Emergency Preparedness: Strategies for Museums, Archives, and Libraries course 
  • Please attach your professional biography.

Scholarship in Risk Management for Heritage
 
Heritage Collections Care Consortium offers a fully funded scholarship to support heritage professionals working in museums, libraries, archives, and historic houses in developing their knowledge and skills in managing risks for heritage collections. ​
 
The successful candidates will attend a two-day highly practical workshop in Risk Management in Heritage. In this workshop, you will learn how to use Risk Management in Heritage (also known as the ABC) methodology in practice. ​
 
The application deadline: The application is open all year around
