Practical Training in Salavage of Heritage Collections

The Collection Care Company Ltd. and Heritage Collections Care Consultancy are offering a practical training session on the salvage of heritage collections for the GLAM sector.
​
This course is suitable for all members of staff who have responsibility for emergency preparedness in their institutions or might be involved in salvage operations.

Skills / Knowledge Outcomes
​
At the end of this course, the participants will:
  • Review where salvage exercises sit in the emergency management framework
  • Review steps involved in salvage
  • Respond to a mock-up salvage scenario involving collections
  • Gain practical experience in assessing, planning and communicating salvage response
  • Gain practical experience in hands-on salvage techniques inclusive of moving and handling, triage techniques, packing for freezing and documentation
  • Know how to debrief the salvage response
  • Take away implications for their own salvage plan/processes
