Many collections care teams are facing restructuring, reduced staffing and tighter budgets, while expectations around collections care remain.
​
I am offering a small, focused seminar for senior heritage professionals who are actively managing these changes.
​
This will be an interactive session. I will introduce some key insights around the impact of organisational change affect collections care. Together we will explore the practical realities participants are facing with and what can realistically be done when resources are reduced.
​
We will look at areas such as collections care priorities, remaining capacity, risk, and the impact of change on staff. The seminar will also provide an opportunity to learn from the knowledge and experience of other senior professionals facing similar situations.
​
It is intended for Heads of Collections, Heads of Conservation, Collection Managers and others directly responsible for managing collections and collections care teams through organisational change.

There are no charges for the seminar.
Places will be limited, and participation will be confirmed based on both role and current involvement in managing change.​
​Once a small group has been confirmed, we will agree date and time that works for everyone.

Separate sessions will be arranged for Asia-Pacific and Europe/Americas participants.
Collections Storage Moves: Planning and Practicalities - Seminar
Moving collections to a different storage space involves decisions about suitability, resources, and ongoing care and access. These considerations apply to moves within the same building, between sites, or to an external storage facility.
This online seminar will explore the key considerations when planning a collections storage move. Case studies will illustrate different approaches to collections storage and the decisions involved, followed by an overview of what organisations need to consider when planning their own move.
There will be opportunities for questions and discussion.Topics will include collections requirements, the suitability of the proposed space, preparation for the move, initial and ongoing costs, staffing, access and responsibilities for collections care.
The seminar will also examine the purpose and scope of a feasibility assessment, what it needs to establish, and the expertise and resources required to do this well.
The seminar is intended for heritage professionals in New Zealand and Australia, including Heads of Collections, Heads of Conservation, Collection Managers, and others responsible for collection storage in museums, galleries, libraries, archives, and historic houses.
Places are limited, with priority given to applicants actively considering or planning a storage move. Once participants have been confirmed, a suitable date and time will be agreed with the group.
